Hi friends!
We just returned from our Taste of Tuscany tour and it was definitely delicious! It did remind me however, that being flexible, especially when traveling, is as important as ever!
It was going to be quite warm, in the 95 degree range on Friday, and we had planned a very busy day of touring beautiful towns and of course tasting
wine.
Silvia, our private guide for several days, suggested that we make an adjustment due to the heat, by replacing the very hilly town of Montepulciano, with a tour at
a small vineyard called Nostra Vita. This flexible move revealed more of the Magic of Tuscany in several ways!
While on the way to this new stop, the natural magic of Tuscany began to reveal itself!
What a beautiful surprise this turned out to be!
Nostra Vita became a wonderful deviation as well. We discovered that Annibale and Elena Parisi built their home on this lovely spot outside of Montalcino in 1970. Like many families do, they raised 3 children and all 3 girls shared in their fathers artistic expression.
Then in the year 2000, Annibale decided to yet again change his life focus and they planted 10,000 grape vines that became this wonderful vineyard!
Annibale is a multi-talented visionary with many skills. Among them are painting, wood and metal working and of course, wine maestro! The incredible part of this story is that he HAND PAINTS each label for the special Brunello di Montalcino that Nostra Vita produces. That is 5000 wine labels a year!
What a joy it was to experience this spectacular place and to enjoy the lucious wine and art with Annibale and one of his daughters Giuditta.
As you can see, being flexible is not only smart. It can pay big rewards!
Ciao!
